FINANCIAL: Cisco announced on February 23 the appointment of a new president for its business in Asia Pacific and Japan.
After three years at the helm of Cisco Japan, Miyuki Suzuki has been promoted to president of Asia Pacific and Japan. Responding to the growth of regional revenues in 18 markets, and driving digital transformation of customers and cybersecurity efforts, Suzuki will inform Chris Dedicoat, executive vice president of Worldwide Sales and Field Operations, according to Cisco.
An experienced executive with more than 35 years of experience, before Cisco, Suzuki worked in numerous leadership positions for organizations throughout Asia, covering technology, aviation, telecommunications and financial services.
Suzuki assumes the leadership of Irving Tan, who last month assumed the new position of senior vice president of Operations and Digital. Together with the executive leadership team of President and CEO Chuck Robbins, Tan will be responsible for driving Cisco's digital transformation across the company in partnership with Sales, Engineering and other functions.

Currently based in Tokyo, Suzuki will move to Cisco Asia Pacific and Japan headquarters in Singapore in the near future. Recruitment is underway for his successor as President of Cisco Japan and will be announced in due time.
